About IEC

1957 -  Establishment of Civil Engineering major at KazPTI named after Lenin;

1961 -  Establishment of Architecture major;

1980 -  Almaty Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (AASI) was founded;

1992 -  Renaming into Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (KazGASA);

1997 -  Establishment of the Kazakh American University (KAU);

2007 -  Creation of International Educational Corporation (IEC) including campuses of KazGASA & KAU.

STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS OF ACTIVITY

To increase competitiveness of the graduates on the global labour market;

To develop scientific-research activity of the university through implementing all modern scientific achievements into the educational process and production;

To develop material-technical basis;

Human resource management and recruitment policy;

To develop foreign relations and international activity;

To increase effectiveness of the extracurricular work;

To ensure high-qualified language training in a context of the globalization of education.

Today IEC:

The single specialized higher education institution in Kazakhstan in the areas of Architecture and Civil Engineering;

The first higher education institution in the world that accredited by UNESCO-International Union of Architects and RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) committees’ “Architecture” major.

It has and maintains European three stage professional education model. The first university in Kazakhstan launched credit system education;

There are 250 high-qualified teaching staff, most of them are professors, recognized researchers and specialists, founders of research schools and authors of many publications and monographs;

The high level of scientific potential of IEC scientists is confirmed by the recognition of their achievements by local and foreign scientific community;

Educational-methodical union based on KazGASA coordinates the work of faculties and departments at 41 universities in Kazakhstan training architects and constructors.
